Puchkas was started in 2012 to provide authentic north Indian with no compromise to quality and hygiene.

India has a rich culinary diversity, and in it there’s an entire category of Indian street food called Chaats which has a charm of its own. With its aromatic spices and tangy sauces, chaats offer a magical flavour, unmatched to any cuisine. Chaats has been modified many times over the years and over regions, travelling from North India to Gujarat. Now it is kind of Pan Indian- subcontinental food phenomenon.
Chaat describes more than just a set of snacks. It’s a category of food that hits every possible element that makes something craveable—sweet and sour, tangy and spicy, crunchy and creamy!! Chaat can be enjoyed anytime. It’s light enough to be eaten for breakfast or as an afternoon snack, but satisfying enough to take the place of lunch or dinner.
A Few Words About Us
India is a land of street food. There are probably as many street food vendors as restaurants in any part of India. However finding a Chaat that wins over your heart and tummy too is not an easy feat. Finding authentic taste in chaats is an herculean task , and then hygiene &quality have never been taken care of in this Indian street food.
Himanshu, founder of Puchkas came to the Indian silicon valley in 2001 as a fresh IT graduate in silicon valley. Coming from Indore, the city known for its lip smacking street food, he craved for nice authentic chaat. Few road side stalls offered unhygienic sub standard ingredients, which were not good on stomach. With only few good brands having limited presence and limited menu , the city did not have a lot to offer. This was when the initial thoughts to venture in this space came up.
His sheer love for food fuelled by passion to provide hygiene and quality authentic Indian street food at affordable price led to the opening of Puchkas. In 2012, he left his well paying corporate job to start with a modest outlet in Marathahalli. Slowly and steadily, this has grown to multiple outlets in Bangalore, and have now expanded to Hyderabad as well.
